Hi! As you might've known from the kerfluffle on Twitter, DeviantArt decided to start up an AI generator based on ones like Midjourney. They also are quite cozy with NFTs and other very foolish parts of the internet that claim to be "innovative" in the art field.

Because of the amount of degradation of trust I no longer want to post my artwork to this platform! I really suggest that other artists do the same! I won't delete this account, but I did remove all my art from it. This is a real shame considering I've been on this website for almost 20 years!! I just genuinely no longer trust dA to have the artist's best interest in mind. I hope every single person on this site finds a home they can trust on the internet! Good luck out there!

There are other galleries and websites that do NOT allow AI to use their images for the creation of AI based art.

Please reconsider posting art here to DeviantArt unless they change their mind.

Spring is finally here. I'm trying to get more art done. I do have a convention coming up in September, so I have a good four months before I sell in a convention. 2020 was tough and I miss being with other people.

My family has vaccinated for COVID-19 and we're all good to go. We still take precautions, but we're happy that we're able to go out more and recently we actually have eaten in restaurants!! Haha. If you haven't gotten the vaccine, please do so! The worst is you'll feel sick for a day or so but after that you'll feel fine!

I got vaccinated back in early March and have been perfectly fine since then.

Anyway, I do plan to be a bit more active on DeviantArt. I miss interacting on here.

I'm just finishing up what has got to be one of the worst weeks I have endured in my life.

I live in Texas and therefore had to endure the Deep Freeze that started on the night of Valentine's Day. It was fine at first. I was excited to watch the snow fall. It rarely ever does. But then it kept coming. It snowed all night and into the next day. Temperature was low and worse, the power was off.

My house isn't insulated well. It was built in 1930 and doesn't have proper heating or cooling. We just use AC units in the windows for summer and small electric heaters in winter. Without electricity I had no heat in my bedroom. We only have one gas heater. I spent a few nights on a mattress on the floor huddled next to that heater next to the family dog.

Our pipes didn't completely freeze, luckily. We were able to get some water, but we were warned to boil any water for drinking. Any food we looked for in stores was mostly gone, but we had a good supply of some basics and the stove was gas! We were very fortunate in that.

So we basically went most of the week in freezing temps without power. No mail was being delivered, food delivery was mostly impossible. Most businesses closed, even places that were open 24/7, usually.

People died from the cold. We were very fortunate, however. It is finally starting to warm up. There's no ice or snow. We have electricity. There's still some food shortages and we can't drink tap water, but it's so much better than freezing in the dark.
